One of the most significant gatherings of the forestry and wood processing sector of Southeastern Europe, the 22nd Wood-Technology Conference was held on May 12th and 13th, 2025. in Opatija, Croatia. ”NIGOS-elektronik” also supported the conference this year as a silver sponsor.

One of the priority topics of this year’s conference was the expiry of the contract for the supply of raw materials until 2027., in light of the still pronounced market, customs, logistics, climate and regulatory pressures. The focus was also on new certification models (PEFC, FSC), EU regulations (RED III and EUDR directives), modernization of production, attracting young staff to the sector, the impact of climate change on the forest fund, technological innovations in wood processing, the state of the raw material market, as well as the sustainable use of biomass.

Every year, the conference presents new and innovative technological solutions for the improvement of production and business processes in forestry and wood processing. Miljan Nikolić, the company’s CEO, also participated in the panel discussion dedicated to new technologies.
